Amazing rooftop views of the Acropolis!
I couldn't believe how noisy it was! The lack of soundproofing. I could hear every conversation in neighboring rooms and every step in the hall. The air conditioning didn't heat the room properly and emitted a horrible smell. The breakfast options were uninspiring and didn't make up for the overall disturbance we experienced.

Location is king and it is a key word for this hotel. It is perfectly located with great access to most tourist attractions in Athens and Pireus as well as the airport. On the other hand the street on which the hotel stands is creepy in the evenings, but we left our car on the street and nothing bad happened to it. This neighbourhood changes dramatically in the mornings when it is a great spot for shopping in a very Eastern way. In short - highly recommended. Great staff and views from the breakfast terrace.
Beware of pickpockets in the area of Monastiraki (the closest underground station)

The breakfast area was beautiful for the view. The staff couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. They allowed me leave luggage nearly a whole day when I had checked out as I had an evening flight that same day and wanted to sightsee.
The area is not safe for any young females to travel to unless they are in a taxi. It is close to the red light district and although technically only a few blocks from the main thoroughfare it is not safe to traverse on foot at night, as I discovered. Everyone I asked for directions cautioned me going near the area alone and on foot.

convenient access to attractions and parks
I really liked the hotel because it's only a 10-minute walk to monastiraki square, where you can explore the vibrant flea market and the very nice food scene nearby. The staff were friendly and the rooftop breakfast had fine views of the acropolis.

A large number of the reviews I read when making my reservation went something like this: good value, great staff, but really sketchy neighborhood that it's best to avoid. I agree with only the first two comments (great value and staff). As for the third: I think the neighborhood is one of the star attractions. Don't get me wrong: on first glance, someone new to Athens may well be put off by the grafitti, the apparently immigrant men seeming to loiter in the streets, and the decay of some of the buildings. Also, wandering around alone after dark is not a good idea in this or any other unfamiliar neighborhood. However... Psiri is a neighborhood that encapsulates a lot I like about Athens. It's got hundreds of family owned shops specializing in everything from garlic and dried chiles to flatware and gardening supplies. It is very close - a five minute walk - to Athens' simply enormous central market. I spent a morning doing nothing but wandering around the many hundreds of stalls selling fish, meat, olives, dried beans, coffee, and so on. I even learned to enjoy the grafitti: quite a bit of it is both well-executed (think Banksy or Shepard Fairey) and explicitly political. Without romanticizing the area around the Evripides, I'd go back just for the chance to see more of it.
If you're going to stay at the Evripides, here are a couple of suggestions. 1) Make sure you get the air conditioning remote control from the front desk - they don't keep the remote in the hotel room. Without it, the summer heat will make the room unbearable. 2) Like a lot of other Athenian hotels, the Evripides boasts generous balconies overlooking the city. However, the mosquitos like these balconies too. Slather yourself with citronella before romancing your significant other out-of-doors.

Thanks to the staff. The staff is exellent. Free Internet access and available all rounf the day. Especially I appreciate communication and support of Sara at the reception.
The location is in the central old part but the streets are full of emigrants from poor countries and it is not safe and comfortable to walk around the hotel. Thanks

The hotel was very accommodating, we were offered to store our luggage as we awaited our overnight train. This made our transition to our next destination seamless.
We could hear noises from neighboring rooms, which interrupted our sleep at times.

Good value for money, and it is easy to access the acropolies and other turistic places from the hotel. Furthermore the metro that connects city center and the airport is less than 10 min walk
The road in which the hotel is situated is a side road and single women walking along the road may feel a bit unsafe. I was traveling on my own as a single women and I felt a bit intimidated when walking down the road

The hotel is old, and located in a small street in Athens. We did not feel safe at all walking to and around the hotel, the streets nearby is full of drug pushers and you always get unwanted attention, eyes looking or staring at you, esp at night. Get a taxi to the hotel if you must stay here, again... Get a taxi and do not walk on the Menandrou street at all.
